There is something good in everything, even the bad ones. So, see the good. You can’t always get what you desire. Humans change. Times too change . Every one of us is moving through life like a locomotive. You’ll face a lot of challenging situations. You will experience difficult situations that will leave you feeling disoriented. You could feel as though the frustration has enveloped you. Literally, horrible events happen every day. You might become a victim of this. But then, don’t worry about anything. You will enter a state of depression if you let your mind dwell on the drawbacks of a circumstance. So, change your mental emphasis. Thinking is a form of energy. Don’t use it improperly. Seeing just the negative aspects of a situation will not change anything. It actually drains all of your vigor from you.
What’s the good about losing a loved one? Is there a benefit to not having that visa or scholarship? What was advantageous about the fire that destroyed your property? What’s the good side of losing your job? What is good about a chronic medical condition that seems to have no treatment options? How precisely is a relationship that you held so dearly ending for the better? Is it worthwhile to struggle when your friends are succeeding so well? What is good about (fill in the blank)? One of such questions may be begging answers in your mind right now.
Why You Should See The Good In All Things
It is so easy to believe that you have failed in life. As emotional beings, when “bad things” happen, such thoughts are unavoidable. However, the fact is that most individuals have witnessed quite painful circumstances. And negativity was never a way out. So, you have to quickly refocus any thoughts that won’t change anything! Walt Whitman once said, “keep your face always toward the sunshine – and shadows will fall behind you.” This statement is true because there cannot even be shadows in the absence of light. Darkness and light have complementary roles. Only the presence of some illumination allows for the creation of shadows. Shadows stand for the negative things that occur to you. If you face your shadow, your light will be behind. But if you turn toward the light, the shadow will trail behind you. Although facing the shadow is easier, doing so is counterproductive.
Holding onto a way of thinking that only causes you misery and regret is of no use. You lost a contract worth millions. Right? You are most definitely not deserving of the contract if it breaks you down. Therefore, don’t go with the flow; go against it. In fact, set your sights higher. Raise your hopes. Don’t cry over it. There is nothing that damages a man more than a poor understanding of himself in difficult times.
The Steve Jobs Example
It’s possible that you’ve read about Steve Jobs a lot. He established the well-known American multinational technology corporation, Apple. History has it that a misunderstanding within the company’s board resulted in Job’s dismissal. Given that he started the company, this sounds pretty absurd. He nevertheless moved ahead and founded NeXT, another tech company that caters to a distinct market niche. He departed alongside a few of his old Apple coworkers. Because his new business was so important, Apple later acquired it. Not only that, Steve Jobs was chosen to lead Apple as its CEO. Steve Jobs viewed his termination by the board as an opportunity rather than a setback. You must adopt an attitude like that.
So, however you feel about a loss, a disappointment, a heartbreak, a misfortune, or what have you, SEE THE GOOD in it. Positivity in the face of unpleasant events calms your fears and strengthens your confidence. It eliminates the negative ambiance and injects hope into your heart. There is yet another aspect. See the good in people, not the bad. Humans are fallible. In the same way that good individuals can turn into bad people, bad individuals can also turn into pleasant people. Therefore, it will be helpful to find something positive to associate with everyone you encounter. You will live a happier life if you adhere to the lessons in this post.
